Medieval Life in the South Downs

During April this year, South Downs Generations project manager, Chris Hare, gave talks to primary school children about life in the South Downs and England generally, during the years 900 – 1300 AD. His talk to Year 5 and 6 children at Findon School on Tuesday 27th April was recorded. The talk has been edited into two parts – one on the Anglo-Saxon era, and one on the Norman Conquest and the medieval years up until the fourteenth century. A list of contents appears on the YouTube link, which we hope will help teachers wishing to identify historical themes they may wish to incorporate into their teaching.
